Welcome to my site. I'm Erin Frey, a Canadian author of historical fiction.

I have always been enthralled by theatre and history and books. Whether the stories play out on stage or on the page, I love to be enveloped by them. I hope that my novels are a place where you can get lost in the lives of the feisty and fascinating women who lived and loved at a time when the modern world was just taking shape. Women like Aphra Behn, Celia Fiennes, and Margaret Cavendish wouldn’t have considered themselves feminists, as the word and the concept didn’t exist, but they weren’t content with what was available to them. Their fight to build lives that fit their hopes and dreams feels very modern to me, even if they happened centuries ago.
